I'll let you in on a little secret: Not all of the students at UAB are as ridiculously beautiful as the three we chose for this ad. Our chosen ones were also ridiculously brilliant and really, really nice. And patient; I had no idea that each part of the ad was going to require its own half-day shoot, complete with makeup, costume changes, and one of those little carts that filmmakers use for panning shots. I was tired just standing there watching, and they were perfectly happy to put up with the fiddling and the repetition for nothing more than a free sandwich from Subway and a chance to see their (ridiculously beautiful) faces on ESPNU.
