Designed to Sell

So all of those crappy intersections that are always blocked by car accidents and those packages that are impossible to get into and those chairs that look cool but irritate your seatbones within ten minutes of you sitting down? It's not just poor design—they were made that way on purpose. Contrast those with the work of people like Karim Rashid, who designed his Garbino trash can to be soothing, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to empty without getting the icky garbage on your hands. He also designed a pair of wedge shoes made out of a special shock-absorbing polymer that makes walking more comfortable and smells like strawberries.
