UAB was my first chance to really experiment with wild concepts like, wow, ads that go on TV (who knew?). The "Discover UAB" ad in the summer of 2007 was my first big concept as well as my first time on a commercial set, which was pretty cool. Spring of 2008 brought to UAB Magazine the concept of the audio slideshow, which brought the challenges and benefits of high-quality audio to usual reporting efforts and convinced me of one thing: I totally should be working for NPR.
